Introduction The Faculty of Arts of the University of Nigeria comprises of eight academic Departments and an array of combined Honours degrees. The Departments are; Archaeology and Tourism, English and Literary Studies, Fine and Applied Arts, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History and International Studies, Linguistics, Igbo and other Nigerian Languages, Mass Communication, Theatre Arts and the Department of Music. Also the Faculty has the Institute for Nigerian Languages located at the, Aba Campus of University of Nigeria. It is worthy of mention here that all the programmes of the Faculty have N.U.C accreditation. The Faculty of Arts premises is a spectacle to behold. It has two main buildings designated Blocks A and B which house all the administrative units and the Departments. A beautiful and well-kept lawn punctuated with trees and beautiful flowers adorns the space between the two blocks. Other buildings belonging to the Faculty include a Faculty Lecture Theatre, an Arts Theatre for the Department of Theatre Arts, an Archaeology Village with a Museum, the Jackson Building belonging to the Department of Mass Communication, Enwonwu Building for the Department of Fine & Applied Arts, Robeson Building for Theatre Arts and the Sowande Building for the Department of Music. |
