Faculty of Biological Sciences is made up of four departments viz: Biochemistry, Botany, Microbiology, and Zoology. The Dean's Office which can also be considered as a department is actually the administrative headquarters of the Faculty. There is an amorphous unit called the Department of Combined Biological Sciences. This unit does not exist in reality but is serviced by the base department of the students.

The Faculty building is located strategically behind the famous Nnamdi Azikiwe Library. It is the structure which has produced a number of great minds now scattered all the world in various areas of endeavour where they have left their mark of excellence.
