Campus Life

1. How do I find accommodation?
Basically, the school allocates an accommodation space to you when you are given admission into the school. This allocation is done after you’ve paid your school fees by the Students Affairs Office, and it’s done online.
2. What are the living conditions in the Hostels like?
The hostels intermittently undergo renovations to improve the living conditions.
3. Are there Co-ed hostels within the campus?
No. Students are encouraged to associate with peers of same sex within the hostels, but this encouragement in no way interferes with social or public relationships.
4. Could male students sleep over in female hostels?
This is also not encouraged by the University for Security Purposes. In some cases, there are penalties when this happens.
5. How many hostels are there on campus?
There are 13 female hostels, 3 male hostels and 1 Postgraduate hostel available for students. See Halls of Residence.
6. Are there university hostels off- campus?
Yes there is. It is called Zik’s Flat and is situated opposite the back gate/2nd gate of the school.
7. Are there any special room provisions?
Yes there are, specifically for blind and handicapped students.
8. Are there dress codes for students?
Yes there are. Every student is expected to dress decently and responsibly within the campus.
9. What is CEC?
Continuous Adult Education Centre (CEC) is a guest house located within the campus for visitors of the university, parents and guardians to lodge while visiting their wards.
10. Can a student run a business on campus?
No.
11. Are there shows on campus?
Yes. Some of the shows include Miss UNN (beauty pageant), STEP UP (dance competition) etc organized by individuals or student bodies.
12. Are there school provisions and/ or regulations for students who live off – campus?
There are no stipulated regulations as they live outside the campus. However, they are expected to stay within the regulations guiding a student of the University.
13. What are the religious groups on campus?

14. What are the extra- curricular activities for students on campus?
Yes there are. Some of them include Plays performed by the Theatre Arts department, Art exhibitions by the Fine Arts department, Music presentations by the Music department, Seminars, Sport events hosted by the University etc.
15. Is there any forum on the school’s radio station for students’ interaction?
Yes there are.
16. What kinds of sports are available for students?

17. Are there scholarship opportunities for student athletes?
Not yet. But there are cash prizes, awards and gifts for students who show exceptional excellence in sport events within and outside the university.
18. What are the means of transportation around the campus?
There are shuttles buses and cars available within and outside the campuses that ply routes to and from the campuses for the convenience and safety of students to the markets and Motor parks around the town.
