Admission Into Postgraduate Programmes For 2012/2013 Academic Year

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into full-time, part-time and sandwich postgraduate programmes in various faculties for the 2012/2013 academic year. Candidates on full-time employment are not eligible to apply for full-time studies. The available higher degree and postgraduate diploma programmes are indicated below.

Duration of Courses
- Postgraduate Diploma (Regular) – Two semesters
- Postgraduate Diploma (Sandwich) – Three Long Vacations
- Masters degree (Regular) – 12 months for full-time and 3 Semesters for part-time.
- M.Ed. M.A. (Sandwich) Three long Vacations
- Ph.D - 3 calendar years minimum and 5 calendar years maximum for full-time, 3 calendar years minimum and 6 calendar years maximum for part-time. (Ph.D is not run as a Sandwich programme.)
Candidates are expected to complete their programmes at the minimum duration but not to exceed the maximum. The duration of the Executive Postgraduate programmes is the same as for part-time programmes.
Registration
For Regular/Sandwich programmes, Postgraduate Diploma and Masters candidates are considered for admission once in an academic year, while Doctorate degree candidates may be considered for admission twice per academic year and therefore may register at the beginning of the first or second semester. Candidates admitted for Sandwich Programmes are expected to register not later than two weeks from the commencement of the Sandwich session.
Method of Application
Application Forms can be obtained ONLINE on payment of a non-refundable fee of N12,000.00 (twelve thousand naira only) made payable to the University of Nigeria Nsukka, at any of the underlisted banks within the country using the E-tranzact platform. The banks include:

- First Bank Plc
- Union Bank Plc
- Zenith Bank Plc, etc.
Applicants should log onto www.portal.unn.edu.ng and click on “Applications”, and follow the procedure. The current Postgraduate Studies prospectus is available online at University of Nigeria website. However, hardcopies of the prospectus are also available for collection at the office of the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. on payment of N3000.00 (three thousand naira only) only at Fidelity Bank Plc, University of Nigeria, Nsukka School Fees PG Account to obtain a copy.
