The University of Nigeria Guest House is a private Limited Liability company incorporated in April 1986 with RC No 83138 by the University. It is operated by the University under the Board of Directors. Located in serene environment at Nsukka and Enugu Campuses, the Company offers accommodation and catering services to Guests of the University and the general public.

Units and Departments


Administration Department

Headed by a General Manager, who is responsible for the day to day general hotel administration via proper planning, organizing, coordination and control of the resources of the business. He ensures consistency in standard of the services, the products used in the rendering of these services and the complete attainment of the set goals of the company.

Accounts

This unit is overseen by an accountant with his team. They are responsible for the overall coordination and control of the accounting of the Company through the preparation of financial statement, showing the state of business for the Board/Management approval. They are report to the General Manager.

Food and Beverage Department

This is a section managed by the Food and beverage manager, with the aid of an assistant. They are responsible for the utilization of resources of the units within including the Kitchen, Bar, Cafeteria, Restaurant, Room Service, Shawarma Extension, outside catering etc. They ensure the highest model of products and services are maintained in line with the quality company policy. They also report to the General Manager.

Housekeeping Department

A room manager is in charge of the daily supervision of this department. He works with the housekeepers to ensure the attainment of the highest standards in keeping a clean and fresh environment within the rooms, public areas and the entire premises. Staff of this unit include a Housekeeper, supervisors, room attendants, laundry men, gardeners, room porters, cleaners, etc. They are overseen by the General Manager.

Front Office

This is the found at the lobby area, and also the first port of call for all prospective customers of the Hotel for all the necessary information regarding reservations, functions, tariff, complaints, bill settlement and other ancillary services. They are overseen by a Supervisor who reports to the General Manager.

Maintenance

The staff of this department include the Plumbers, Electricians, Mason, Carpenters, painters and other artisans. They are overseen by a Chief Maintenance Officer, who is responsible for the effective operations of the department, ensuring adequate maintenance of all facilities and accurate record of the state of all operational equipments. This person is also responsible to the General Manager.

Security

This is overseen by the Chief Security Officer of the school, who also facilitates the basic school arrangements, and maintains confidence in the safekeeping and protection of life and property in the enclave of the Hotel. He controls the activities of the other security staff and they report to the General Manager.
