This Section handles installation, maintenance and protection of power system networks and electrical machines/accessories in the University Community. That is they are in charge of electrical power supply, generating plant operation, public address systems services, and repairs of refrigerators and air conditions in the University.

We operate in the following units:

Meter Unit: This unit read meter together with PHCN and do our independent calculation of each month’s consumption as a check to PHCN bills. We also read meters and bill in all residential and business premises in the campus.Distribution and Underground Cable Unit: We maintain and clear all underground faults in our network, form 11kv to the consumer.

Lines Unit: This unit also maintains and clears all over head faults, from 11kv (in comer) to the consumer.

Academic Building Unit: We are not only supplying power to all faculties, departments and halls, but we also maintain/repair all the electrical installations in the academic buildings, laboratories and offices throughout the University.

Staff Quarters Unit: We take charge of the power supply and general maintenance of electricity in all our staff quarters.

Power Generation/Plant Unit: We have standby generating plants position in different locations of the University. We see to the day to day running of the generation stations and maintenance of the plants.

Students Hostels Unit: We also satisfy the student’s electrical needs in all the hostels including Ziks Flats.

Public Address System Unit: This unit covers all the public lectures, symposiums, matriculations, convocations and all public gatherings of the University with the public address systems.

Street Light Unit: We control and maintain the street light, ensuring they are functioning i.e. illuminating every night.
